Ursiq is a ring at the end of a dog harness that pulls the sled. It connects the harness’ reins to the sled (nuvviti). In the past, it was made from bearded seals’ skin, and now, they use nylon rope. It is resistant and very strong, so that it can pull heavy loads. The website URSIQ brings Nunavik teacher’s ideas together to empower our teachers and students to succeed.
